
ABOUT
Sara-Ella Ozbek is a screenwriter and novelist. Both her novels The High Moments and Nothing I Wouldn't Do were published by Simon & Schuster. The former is being produced for TV by Working Title and Likely Story and is setup at the BBC; Sara-Ella is the Creator and Writer. Also with Working Title in co-production with Parados Productions she is developing Principal, a feature biopic about Margot Fonteyn, starring Lily James. She adapted Northern European Christmas hit Accidental Santa into an English language feature for Sony Pictures International. For Charles Finch’s Rabbit’s Foot Films, she has adapted Polly Stenham’s Julie as a feature film, which Josie Rourke will direct, and has written two further features for the company: a comedy-drama inspired by Chekhov’s Three Sisters and original thriller Buried on the Beach. For Ventureland, she has written Los Algodones, a dark comedy feature based on a story by Santiago Fabregas, who will also direct. She has also co-written romantic comedy Love Conquers Most with Dianna Agron.
Sara-Ella is active in the theatre space, as the book writer for Grayson, a comedy musical set for a run at The Soho Theatre Walthamstow in July 2026, directed by Sean Foley with music by Richard Thomas and lyrics by Grayson Perry, who is also the musical's subject.
Sara-Ella has written non-fiction for Harper's Bazaar, The Independent, A Rabbit's Foot, Suitcase Magazine, Upstate Diary and Vogue.
